GSN Originals, Part One

GSN Originals, Part One

Hello Everybody and Welcome to the BRAND NEW FORMAT (kind of?) of GAME SHOWS, I SUPPOSE.

As I am somewhat back-and-forth (please don’t expect new episodes weekly, i am just lucking out at the moment) I have looked at my list of game shows, that I have not covered, and so many of them have one thing in common - Game Show Network

I have been a long-time Game Show Network viewer, and even really wanted “WinTV” at the time, game show repeats are a smart idea, but sometimes, you need to create your own game shows, just to keep things refreshing, and GSN is still doing that to this day.

However, unlike a typical “GSIS Episode” where I’m rambling for 30 minutes about Linoleum Floors and why they casted a great host on a game show - these shows, I honestly don’t have much to say. There isn’t really any “fun facts” or “stories” i can pull, nothing really exciting in my world to put a personal connection to.

So I am left with a choice - ignore these shows, and the talent and creativity that put on some iconic shows from the 90s, 2000s and 2010s. or just come back, say whatever i can, and just continue my mission - to cover every game show.

You might consider this “cheapening it” - but trust me, when we’re covering GSN Originals, I am trying my hardest to not say “the premise” and then say “round 1 is for this points, round 2 is for the double points, round 3 is a bullshit catchup round, and the bonus round the contestant must get this many in 30/60 seconds to win $10,000 otherwise they win $1,000”

So I decided to start this journey through some GSN Originals with FOUR FAVORITES

Cram - a sleep deprivation based game show, that is famous for thats famous for, that, that is famous for, that is, that is famous for giant, that is famous for giant hamster wheels.

Friend or Foe - strangers pair-up in a multiple-choice quiz, but ultimately, it concludes with prisoners dilemma - will strangers leave as friends, or fight over the prize as foes?

InQuizition - a trivia show where the questions will not stop, until for whom the bell tolls, as each round eliminates a player through a fate worse than death - fading to white with a bang.

and finally, WinTuition - a trivia show, where the premise is, get this, asking questions from School Curriculum, while there were others like “5th Grader” and “Schools Out”, there is only one that gives away $300 in Quarters and Pizza Gift Cards.

I might revisit any or all of these shows in a future date, but for now, I have a lot on my plate, and would like to share any new updates as I can , if you like it (or don’t like it) let me know in the Discord.
