The End

The End

FOR RELEASE 01/02/2025 @ MIDNIGHT

It is currently March 18th, 2024. My mom is in the hospital, yet again. But she fears this is the last one. I am sad and scared. Throughout the “second wave” of GSIS, I have been trying to juggle between being a caregiver to my mom, and “doing a podcast to no listeners” as I ramble about game shows.

There are other people in the world that do this, many of which do it on youtube like Scott Kramer or Ben Schneider to amazing places like Buzzerblog and GameShowNewsNet.

The first time around, I had larger ambitions for this, my own personal “Podcast: The Ride, but Game Shows”, but the more and more i became focused on the podcast, the less I felt like myself, (it was getting to the point I was being very pushy on people to stop by)

When I went into patreon and the closing days of “The Solo Sessions” I felt more “at home” (besides literally recording this at my house) but I felt like it was just a very long, rambling, review.

Then those “solo sessions” became quicker episodes, because I can’t give an hour on “Bet On Your Baby” or “Child Support”, as I would, say “Russian Roulette” or “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego”.

So i tried to make time, but the more time I was with my mom, as she needed more and more help, the less and less time I have been on my computer (as we speak, there are SEVEN updates i need to do just on the OS alone)

I am scared of what lies ahead, and as this is way into the future, I am uncertain what will happen. I don’t know if my mom will get better, I don’t know my own mental state. It’s very scary, to be honest.

So, instead, I decided this is the second “finale episode” with a very rambling episode about game shows. As I inch close to a mental breakdown, WHICH I AM TOLD MAKES EXCELLENT CONTENT

So, here’s currently the plan, at this point, and I might be wrong in doing this.

No matter what, there will still be the “TOP 5 GAME SHOWS” list - I felt that was a good “Year in Review” element, and my tastes change year after year, and it’s fun to highlight good game shows, even if it’s “The Price is Right” and “Jeopardy”

I might review game shows, unsure at the moment - The “Dave Meltzer of Game Shows” wants his seven star Tokyo Dome show, brother. And as long as game shows continue to air internationally, I will continue trying to break them down and talk about them. MIPCOM IS A HOOT. Rather that’s in audio, or in text. remains the ultimate mystery. I will figure that out later. (It’s between Text and Shorts/Video)

I would like to write about game shows, eventually - One of the projects I had in mind was a “Game Shows I Suppose” book, while not as researched as Adam Nedeff’s work, or as comprehensive as the Encyclopedia of Game Shows. I just want to put some of that silly writing into a book. The Floor is a flash card quiz, where you see a photo of a banana, and you say “banana”.

My plan going into 2025/2026 is “Video Content” again - If I have the free time, I will be trying to finally get back into “The YouTube Game” (or TikTok or Reels, whatever) I want to talk games more, video games, etc. I still am “king of talking about the internet” and my ego still says everybody talking content creators and memes are lazy garbage people, AND I BETTER THAN ALL THOSE ASSHOLES.

The End Goal is Easy.

A GAME SHOW.

If I ever finally get the financials going, I think I can crack the code on “Game Show on the Internet”. There are so many shows out there that figured it out (Mr Beast, Game Changer, Jet Lag) and I know I can also do it as well. When I drift off and daydream, it’s ideas and formats and “games” and “challenges” that I feel are fun, exciting (at least to me) and creative.

Rather it’s a low stakes internet thing OR a million dollar randomizer, I think I can do it. Through all the hell I’ve been put through, my dreams of “Game Shows” is still there, but I am also expanding it to “Make a Better G4” and even expanding that out to “And Maybe Not Sell It Off To Warner Brothers like Rooster Teeth” (NOTE: This was a very timely reference when I wrote this)

I hope you join me on that adventure, and see the weird stuff I will get into. I will be writing, at the very least as the “backup” even if I have to do it on my phone.

Thank you everybody, and I will see you next time.
